Imitatio Christi

----------------------

Cap. 12. De regia via sanctae crucis.

1. Durus hic multis videtur sermo. Abnego temet ipsum, tolle crucem tuam et sequere Jesum. Sed multo durius erit audire illud extremum verbum: Discedite a me, omnes maledicti, in ignem æternum.

eo transferre potest in anglice sic:

Chapter 12: concerning the royal way of the Holy Cross
This saying seems hard to many: Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Jesus. But it will be much harder to hear that final word: Depart from me, ye cursed, into eternal fire. For he who freely hears the word of the cross, and follows, will not at that time fear the hearing of eternal damnation. The sign of the cross will be in the sky, when the Lord comes to judge. Then all the servants of the cross, who conformed themselves to the Crucified in life, shall go to Christ the judge with great trust.

September quartus decimus erat festa crucis sancti.
